Mary Colt Gross was a daughter of U.S. Senator LeBaron B. Colt of Bristol, Rhode Island. His brother Samuel Colt owned U.S. Rubber, and his cousin was Samuel Colt of revolver fame. Mary Colt's husband, Harold J. Gross, was a stockbroker. Three of LeBaron B. Colt's daughters were Tirocchi clients. Mary Colt Gross patronized the shop from 1929 to 1939. Like Mrs. Peck, she did volunteer work for the Homeopathic Hospital and co-chaired the planning committee with Mary Peck in 1930.
